About This Event / イベントについて
SHIBUYA WINTER ILLUMINATION is the west-side street programme: Hachiko Square, Dogenzaka, and Sakura-zaka. Last season the lights ran about 21 November 2025 to 28 February 2026 on Hachiko and Dogenzaka (17:00–23:00), Sakura-zaka until 31 January (17:00–22:00), with a lighting ceremony at 18:20 on 21 November at Sakuragaoka. As of 16 October 2026 that 2026–27 page is not on shibuyaplusfun.com. This row stays as a recurring street light at named places. It does not invent a 21 November 2026 ceremony.
Halloween wrap of Hachiko (30 October–1 November) will already have boxed the statue before any winter lights. New Year often wraps it again. The square is a commute, not a festival ground. Street drinking 18:00–05:00 still applies under the LEDs.
When Plus Fun or the Dogenzaka association posts 2026, that wins. Until then the dated lights in this ward are Hikarie (5 November–25 December), Forest of Lights (13 November–11 January, ticketed, Yoyogi), and Blue Cave (11–27 December, Koen-dori).
