About This Event / イベントについて
青の洞窟 SHIBUYA 2026 lights Koen-dori through Yoyogi Park Keyaki Namiki, Friday 11 December to Sunday 27 December. Those dates come from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s October 2026 ARTE TOKYO round-up (koho.metro.tokyo.lg.jp/2026/10/), not from the organiser site. aonodokutsu.jp is still the 2025 thank-you page (last season 4–25 December 2025, theme THE SNOWMAN). Do not copy 4–25 December onto 2026. The walk is about 900 m of blue LEDs, free, recurring since 2016 with pandemic gaps. Cumulative visitors were already past 15 million before last season.
Lighting hours for 2026 are not on the Tokyo page. Last season was 17:00–22:00. Treat that as last year’s clock until the committee posts 2026. Sponsor pattern has been Nisshin Seifun Welna. Snowman balloon was a 2025 extra. Do not promise it this year. The path is a street and a park avenue, not a ticketed course. Forest of Lights on the cycling loop is the paid 1.8 km walk with timed tickets. Blue Cave is the free north-south walk you can enter from Shibuya Station up Koen-dori, or from Harajuku / Yoyogi-Koen onto Keyaki Namiki.
Weekends in mid-December stack. Omotesando’s zelkova lights are a Harajuku/Minato walk, not this page. Stay on Koen-dori if you are writing Shibuya. Street drinking 18:00–05:00 still applies on the pavement. A plastic cup from a convenience store is not part of the show. Photograph from the sidewalk. Do not stand in the bike lane.
When the organiser site flips from thank-you to 2026, hours and any balloon theme override this page. Until then the reliable date set is Tokyo’s 11–27 December. Why the dates moved later sits in the news note.
