About Nonbei Yokocho

Nonbei Yokocho is the alley that survived when the other station yokocho were cleared. GHQ ordered street stalls moved in 1950. The plots are still stall-sized. About 40 shops: yakitori, oden, country cooking, a few bars. Hours follow each shop, mostly evening. Sunday is thin. Two or three people fit. Hashigo from shop to shop is the point. The association site is nonbei.tokyo. Street drinking outside the shops after 18:00 is still the station ordinance. Eat inside.
