OBSCURA COFFEE ROASTERS Front is the Shibuya outpost of a respected Tokyo-based speciality coffee roaster, located on the basement first floor of Shibuya Mark City within the Tokyu Food Show. The 'Front' concept is designed for speed and convenience: a compact takeaway-focused counter where commuters can grab a freshly brewed pour-over or espresso drink along with a bag of single-origin beans to take home.Obscura sources and roasts its beans with meticulous attention to origin and flavour profile, and the Front menu reflects this with a rotating selection of seasonal lots. While seating is limited to a small standing counter, the emphasis is very much on quality on the go, and the baristas are happy to chat about the day's offerings if the queue allows.
The shop is positioned just inside the Tokyu Food Show entrance on the B1F level of Mark City, a minute's walk from the Shibuya Station Tokyu Den-en-toshi Line ticket gate. Opening hours run from 10:00 to 21:00 daily, and the store is closed only on irregular holidays that follow the department store schedule.

I ordered a cup of coffee for my wife but it was too bland, hence I requested for sugar to be added. The store staff merely added 1 small teaspoonful of sugar and refused to add more sugar citing this was store rule. The service and attitude is terrible and I will not patronise this store again.

I recommend going to shibuya scramble and then taking the 7a exit into b1 to find the coffee shop. Been lost like twice and that’s me being an idiot. Really great shop with great coffee. Best latte I’ve ever had. Don’t get oat milk as it will dilute the amazing ness of coffee - go for normal milk and take lactaid if you have to. I bought a ton of beans home. Super excited!!

One of the top 10 lattes I’ve ever had in my life! They have incredibly flavorful espresso that was perfectly balanced with their choice of oat milk. Even after the ice melted, the drink was still perfect and flavorful, which is a big marker of a great latte for me. the person at the counter was very kind, despite my not being able to speak Japanese! They had a ton of coffee that, if the espresso is any indication, is all probably very good as well. The shop is open until later than most cafes, and they also offered decaf espresso, which are both much appreciated! For anyone confused about the location, it’s located in the food hall under Shibuya station!

This stand was a bit difficult to find, on B1 level of Shibuya Mark Place, outside the food hall and next to a bagel place. Small selection and no seating/drinking area. It was alright. They did have oat milk available but perhaps due to a language barrier, I didn’t get oat milk in my latte.
