Chiikawa Bakery is a themed bakery and shop based on the wildly popular Chiikawa character franchise, located on the third floor of the Tokyu Plaza Omotesando 'Omokado' complex in Harajuku. The permanent store opened in October 2024 and has since drawn steady crowds of fans eager to get their hands on its irresistibly cute character-shaped breads and pastries. The bakery offers an array of breads designed to resemble Chiikawa characters, featuring faces moulded into rolls, cream-filled buns and seasonal specials. Alongside the baked goods, the shop stocks exclusive merchandise including plush toys, keychains and stationery that cannot be purchased anywhere else. It is both a bakery and a pilgrimage site for devotees of the franchise. Access is straightforward: the shop is a one-minute walk from Meiji-Jingumae Station Exit 5, and roughly four minutes on foot from JR Harajuku Station. Advance reservations are recommended during weekends and holidays as queues can be substantial. The surrounding Omokado complex also houses other appealing shops and cafes worth exploring.
