Metamorphose temps de fille is one of Japan's most recognisable Lolita fashion brands, and its Harajuku outpost at Laforet has been a pilgrimage site for fans since the brand first expanded to Tokyo in 1999. Originally founded in Kyoto, Metamorphose designs clothing that lets wearers express their own interpretation of Lolita style, regardless of sub-genre. The Laforet store stocks a full range of dresses, blouses, headpieces, socks and accessories, often featuring exclusive in-store colourways and pre-order items unavailable elsewhere. Signature design elements include voluminous skirts, delicate lace trim and whimsical prints that range from sweet florals to gothic motifs. Located on the B1.5 floor of Laforet Harajuku, the shop is open from 11:00 to 20:00. The store accepts telephone enquiries in Japanese only (03-3470-0040), but staff are accustomed to overseas visitors and browsing is warmly encouraged.
