Tower Records Cafe sits on the second floor of the legendary Tower Records Shibuya store, making it the natural resting spot for anyone who has just spent an hour flipping through vinyl and CDs. The cafe is best known for its ever-changing collaboration menus, which tie in with anime series, musicians and pop-culture franchises — each one bringing themed food, drinks and exclusive merchandise for a limited run.The menu typically features creative twists on cafe staples, with dishes and desserts designed to reflect the current collaboration's aesthetic. When no collaboration is running, the cafe still serves a solid selection of coffee, light meals and sweets in a relaxed atmosphere filled with music memorabilia.
Located just a three-minute walk from Shibuya Station's Hachiko exit, the cafe is open from 10.30am to 10pm, though hours can shift depending on the collaboration event. It is worth checking the Tower Records website before visiting, as the cafe occasionally closes for a day or two between event changeovers.
